In 2000, Vishay achieved a technological breakthrough with the introduction of Bulk Metal® Z-Foil. Products built on this revolutionary technology deliver an absolute temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of 0.2 ppm/°C. The lower the TCR, the better a resistor can maintain its precise value despite ambient temperature variations and self-heating when power is applied. Vishay Bulk Metal Foil resistors are essentially non-inductive (less than 0.08 micro Henrys) and not capacitive, providing a rise time of about 1 nanosecond, making it particularly suitable for high frequency application. Furthermore, its thermal EMF is less than 0.05 µV/°C making it particularly important for low-ohmic DC applications.
